Obituary for Robert Alvin Harris
Harris, Robert Alvin, age 78, of Littleton. Retired employee of Martin Marietta Company, and dedicated member of the team that got us on the moon, and many other space projects. Graduate of Littleton High School, Colorado native, and resident most of his life. Survived by his wife of 57 years, Roma Harris, his siblings Joey Yoes, Jerry Guise, William Guise, Ruth Ann Bullock, daughters Sheree Lee Nick and Karee Watson, and five grandchildren, Amber, Joshua, Matthew, Taylor, and Zachary and one great grandchild, Jesse. Proud to serve his country, six years in the U.S. Navy. An adventurous young man, he was stationed in the desert in El Centro, California, testing parachutes, and climbing poles to wire them for electricity. A devoted husband and father, also an avid nature lover preserving a lake area as a safe, wildlife refuge for many years during his retirement. He enjoyed pursuing many other hobbies and activities during his lifetime.
