Obituary for Robert "Bob" W. Bachman
Robert “Bob” Bachman, age 84, of Highlands Ranch, CO, passed away July 29, 2017. Bob was a devoted husband, father, businessman and a US Air Force Veteran.
Bob was born in Grand Island Nebraska, on September 5, 1932 to Wilber and Viola Bachman. He attended Grand Island Senior High School. While in high school, he played on four state champion football and basketball teams, an accomplishment that gave him great pride. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a degree in Business and Agriculture, and went on to join his father in the family cattle business.
His career in the cattle business spanned sixty years before he retired in 2011. During those years, he traveled the Midwest, loved the people he dealt with and truly enjoyed the business he was in.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Bachman, his daughter, Lori Bachman, two grandchildren, Annie and Andrew Bachman, two sisters, Carolyn Moore and Betty Bachman, and many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Steven, and daughter, Julie.
Bob had an infectious laugh, marvelous sense of humor and above all, an abiding faith in his Lord. He often quoted his favorite verse from Scripture, Proverbs 3:5 & 6,
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.”
Bob lived by this. He was a man whose grand spirit and open heart welcomed those around him. He will be dearly missed.
