Obituary for Robert H. Walker
Father Bob Walker of the Wind Crest Community in Highlands Ranch. Beloved husband of Dorothy Walker. The Reverend Robert Howard Walker went home to his Lord on Monday, April 6, 2015. Father Bob, as he was called by so many, was born August 31, 1935 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Howard and Maxine Walker. Following high school, he immediately enlisted in the Army just as the truce had been signed for the Korean Conflict. He served in the Army Security Agency, later to become the National Security Agency. Having become reacquainted with Dorothy, a Wyoming transplant to Bowling Green, they wed on November 10, 1956. This was the very first wedding in the new St John the Baptist Episcopal Church. Bob enrolled in Bowling Green State University and Dorothy put her new R.N. to use at the University Health Service. During these college days two daughters were born, Deborah Marie and Catherine Mary. The family moved to California to finish college and Bob found employment as a police officer for Long Beach. His favorite duty was as a motorcycle officer. He loved his big Harley. Debbie had been ill for many years. Three weeks after Bob started at St. Philips, Debbie died into the arms of Jesus. She had endured 15 years of dialysis for kidney failure. Bob always said Debbie was the bravest person he ever knew. In lieu of flowers, please send gifts to Alzheimer’s Research, American Kidney Foundation, St Gregory’s or St. Phillip in the Field.
Cemetery: Inurnment at St. Gregory Episcopal Church, Littleton, Colorado.
