Obituary for Robert Joseph Heidrick
Heidrick, Robert Joseph, age 84 of Englewood. Robert was born on December 7, 1930, in Beloit Kansas to Joe and Hazel Heidrick and entered into eternal life on December 29, 2014, in Englewood, Colorado. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Joann Heidrick and his eight children, Debbie (Terry Quinn), Mike (Karen), Duane (Debbie), Diane (Mark Miller) ,Teresa, Chris (Lynette ), Marilyn (Doug) and Mark. He is survived by his 16 grandchildren and his 16 great grandchildren with two more on the way. He was the oldest child of three, Mary Lou Hageman his sister (recently deceased) and his younger surviving brother Tom Heidrick. He lived on a farm in Beloit and attended a one room country school house and later St. John's Catholic High School. Bob married Joann Reiter on November 14, 1950. In 1951 he and his wife moved to Colorado. Together, in their spare time they built their house from the ground up, living in the basement while they finished the main level with four children underfoot. He got a job at Gates Rubber Company, Denver and worked there for 40 years before retiring in 1991. Bob's guiding force was his faith. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Littleton for 63 years, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus and was elected as Grand Knight in 1976. Bob had a great appreciation for the mountains and the great outdoors. He loved to fish, hike, collect rocks and old bottles and loved to read, especially Westerns. Joann faithfully and lovingly cared for Bob for more than 10 years as his illness progressed. They would sit for hours making rosaries to send to the missions. He helped anyone who needed it, from building garages and basements to helping at the Carmelites for many years. Bob was hardworking, kind, loyal, faithful and fair. He was a man of few words and he never said a bad word about anyone. Bob you will be missed and remembered with love and respect.
