Slocum, Rodney 'Rod', age 70, was born in Colorado and became a resident of New Mexico in 1969. Rod passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 2, 2012. He is survived by his wife Claudia of 49 years; daughter Jessica Slocum; son Kyle Slocum; and grandson Douglas Echols. His sister Debora Bodkin resides in Riverside, California with her daughter's family. Over the years, Rod enjoyed distinguished and diversified careers in law enforcement: Police Officer, Postal Inspector and Juvenile Probation/Parole Officer. He was also a master and professional wood carver, carpenter and finish carpenter. His favorite pass times were fly fishing and hiking the mountains. Rod was a unique person and is deeply missed by family and friends. Services will be Friday, January 13, 2012, 10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 6853 South Prince Street, in Littleton.

Interment immediately following Mass at Lehow Cemetery.
