Obituary for Ronald Joseph Cimino
Ronald “Ron” Cimino of Littleton, Colorado was born October 27th 1935 in Chicago Illinois. He passed away peacefully January 7, 2020 at home with his family nearby.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Ruth (nee Filcher) Cimino, his son, Anthony Cimino of Denver, daughters Lisa (Cimino) Patton of Aurora and Nicole Cimino of Parker and his three beloved grandchildren: Hannah and Benjamin Patton and Peyton Cimino Taylor. Ron is also survived by his brother Anthony Cimino of Chicago IL, Judy Cimino of New Berwick ME, and sister Kathleen Cimino of Cave Creek AZ, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents Vito Cimino and Grace (nee Marino) Cimino and brother James Cimino.

Ron and Ruth met in Phoenix AZ at General Electric/Honeywell and were married in 1964. Ron was a computer programmer and a pioneer in the early days of computers. He furthered his career with Honeywell in computer system sales when they moved to Denver Colorado with Honeywell in 1979.

Ron and Ruth raised their family in Littleton from 1979-1987 when Ron was then transferred to St. Louis MO. Ron retired from Honeywell in 1991 and they quickly returned to Colorado. Ron couldn’t stay retired long and worked selling homes in southwest Littleton. He then “retired” again a few years later but continued to work part-time at The Meadows Golf Club and at Lowe's Home Improvement store in Littleton.

Ron’s greatest passion was golf. In 2006, Ron scored a coveted “hole in one” at The Meadows, and often said he could die happy after that achievement! He was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan - Ron would often tell stories of catching fly balls outside of Wrigley Field with his brother when they were kids. He was also a fan of his favorite Colorado teams, The Denver Broncos, Colorado Avalanche and Rockies, that is, when they were winning.

Ron was active in his grandchildren’s lives - he taught each of them how to golf, and attended their many ballet, theatre and sporting events. He enjoyed music - especially Jazz - the comedies of Mel Brooks and the movies of Hitchcock and Scorsese. Ron will fondly be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, for his sharp sense of humor, and passion for golf.
