Obituary for Ronnie Keith Bostick
Ronnie Keith Bostick, aged 79, passed from this life to his eternal, heavenly home with the Lord on February 17, 2019 in Lakewood, Colorado. He was born with his identical twin brother Robert, on September 25, 1939, to Cecil and Edith Bostick of Romney, Texas. Ron gave his life to the Lord at the age of 12 and surrendered to the ministry at the age of 17. He attended Howard Payne University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in 1963. He later married Sallie Dowdy and began life as a pastor and parent to James, Susan and Scott. After earning his Masters of Divinity from Southwestern Theological Seminary in 1972 he was commissioned to serve as a missionary with the Foreign Mission Board in East Africa. He served for many years as a church planter in remote areas of Kenya and Zambia. He also pastored a church in South Australia for a number of years. After returning to the United States, Ron pastored several churches in Oklahoma and West Texas while also serving as a Funeral Home Director for a number of years.
An evangelist at heart, he shared the gospel with many people on all occasions. On a personal level he loved to retell tall tales, especially those that involved hunting dogs and fishing! He often shared a good clean joke with a twinkle in his eye. He played the guitar and loved to sing around a campfire all the old cowboy songs that were dear to him.
He is survived by his children: James (Kim) Bostick, Susan (Robert) Bostick-Mein and Scott (Cassie) Bostick; 6 grandchildren: Austin, Jayla, Gabe, Everett, Tasman and Justice; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Kimbrough Funeral Home in Cisco on Friday, February 22, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Cisco on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in the Romney Cemetery, Cisco, Texas.
