Obituary for Samuel D. Cheatham
Samuel D. Cheatham, beloved Husband and Father passed away with his wife and daughter by his side on Monday, May 15th.
Samuel was born in Miami, FL on August 9, 1939. He was the only child of Ellenor and Lloyd Cheatham. In 1962 he joined the US Air Force and qualified for the Armed Forces Air Intelligence Training Center at Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado where he graduated as a specialist in B52 Bombing and Navigation and was then transferred and stationed at Eglin USAF in Florida. He went on to deployment at Andersen USAF in Guam specializing radar navigation and mechanical engineering.
In 1966 he was discharged and shortly thereafter recruited by IBM where he worked for 10 years and went on to become an Executive VP at Storage Technology. In 1965 he met Lynette Marie Testa, they married a year later and had one daughter. For 50 years Sam was a deeply devoted and loving husband and father.
Sam was an avid aviation buff, building and flying radio control aircraft and collecting WWII memorabilia, antique model airplane engines and fixing anything and everything that needed repair in the home from cars and televisions to jewelry, shoes and hair dryers.
He is survived by his loving wife and daughter, Lynn and Leann Michelle Cheatham.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 23rd at Our Lady Of Mt. Carmel at 3549 Navajo St, Denver, CO 80211. Internment will immediately follow at Golden Cemetery, 755 Ulysses St, Golden, CO 80401.
