Obituary for Scott Lawrence West
Scott Lawrence West, of Colorado, passed away Thursday, June 16, 2016, in his mother's home after a brave fight against cancer.
Born in Evanston, Illinois, April 14, 1976, to George and Lesley West, Scott was an intelligent and unusually kind child. Together with his older sisters, Jennifer and Heather, he spent his young life embracing nature in beautiful Colorado.
Scott was a lover of music, a talented artist, and above all an outdoor adventurer happiest out on a fresh snow-powdered mountain on his snowboard with his beloved sister and friends. He built a reputation of fairness, reliability, and quality workmanship with his electronics installation company. He genuinely loved and cared for his family and friends with all his heart, and he absolutely adored his wife Missie. The two of them loved each other from the day they met in a way that inspired all.
Scott will be remembered for his integrity, service to others, compassion, passion for life, and deeply loving and open heart. He set an example for many who knew him as the type of person we all aspire to be. Scott is survived by his wife, Missie; his sister Jennifer and her husband Andy; his sister Heather; his mother Lesley; his father George and stepmother Debbie; his sister-in-law Kimberly and her children Aaron and Malorie; his sister-in-law Meghan and her fiance Irving; and his sister-in-law Mollie and her husband Martin and their children Avery, Emma, and Lucas Scott.
The memorial service will be held at 4:34 p.m. June 20, 2016, at 7 Sunset Lane, Greenwood Village, Colorado, 80121. We celebrate his life at that time and date in honor of a rare summer solstice which will coincide for the first time in 68 years with a full moon, also known as the Strawberry Moon.
In lieu of flowers or meals, donations can be sent through Ellis Family Services, Attention: Scott West Family, 13436 West Arbor Place, Littleton, CO 80127 or online via https://pages.giveforward.com/medical/page-6bfdzn4/
