Obituary for Shirley J. Raynock
Shirley Joyce McPherson (Raynock) past away on October 9th 2015, at 10:25 pm in Denver Colorado, it had been a beautiful Fall day.
She was comforted until her end, by her three children, her son in-law, daughter in-law, niece and granddaughters, as well as the innocence of a lovely 9 year old that gave us all comfort in knowing life will always go on and passing is just a new adventure.
She is survived by six (of 11) brothers and sisters, three children, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, 20 nieces and nephews and a million great memories.
Shirley was born March 20th 1935, one of 11 children all of whom, where born or lived in Telluride, Colorado.
She graduated Telluride High School in 1952, and remained friends with many of her classmates.
All who met her always commented first on her beauty. But not the skin deep kind, Shirley gave everyone the impression that her beauty went all the way to her core. Her bright blue eyes and smile were not the only things that warmed a room, but her generosity, interest, kindness and attention she showed those around her made everyone an immediate friend.
Shirley loved to dance, laugh, everything Telluride and spending time with her dear friends of the silver sneakers, but mostly she loved to travel, and the travel she loved the most, was any place she went with her Gil (gentleman friend and life partner for 10 years).
Shirley inspired everyone around her to be themselves, enjoy what they do and never complain.
