Obituary for Stephen T. "Tim" Walston
Stephen T. "Tim" Walston, age 70 of Foxfield, Colorado passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 29, 2018, after a long battle with cancer.
After high school Tim joined the US Army in 1966. He served three years of active duty with one tour in Vietnam and two tours in Germany. While serving in the Army, Tim received air medals for his bravery while flying in the Republic of Vietnam and also received other special commendations. He served his Country honorably and was discharged in early 1970.
Upon leaving his active duty service, Tim joined the Georgia Army National Guard and, after marrying and moving to the State of Colorado, retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the Colorado Army National Guard with more than 20 years of service. Tim earned his US Army Master Aviator Wings before retiring.
Tim also enjoyed a varied 30 plus year career with the Federal Government retiring from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Tim is predeceased by both parents Runie Walston, Sr. and Marie Conaway, and his grandparents.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Jackie Walston of Foxfield, CO; step-father Samuel Conaway of Austin, TX; step-mother Eloise Walston of Conyers, GA; his brothers Runie Walston, Jr. (Susan) of Jacksonville, FL, Sam Walston (Suzette) of Fayetteville, GA, John Conaway (Jody) of Austin, TX, and Patrick Walston (Savella) of Jefferson, CO; also survived by several nieces and nephews, numerous sisters and brothers-in-law and their families and many wonderful friends. Tim will also be dearly missed by his loving companion Callie.
The family suggests memorial contributions to either the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers or Freedom Service Dogs of America in Tim's memory. The donation addresses can be found under the MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTION heading below.

Celebrating Tim's Life. There will be no formal procession to Ft. Logan National Cemetery, we will meet inside the north entrance gate at Staging area B for procession to Shelter B at 12:30 PM for the Military Honors.
