Obituary for Thomas J. Rasser
Tom, age 85 of Littleton, Colorado.
Thomas J. Rasser passed away peacefully at home in the company of his family Friday December 25, 2020. He was born Thomas Jefferson Rasser on July 15 1935 in Atlantic City NJ to Joseph Rasser and Marguerite Bohler. He was a graduate of Villanova University/BA in electrical engineering, Newark College of Engineering/MA in Aerospace engineering. He married Nancy Mancuso on October 26, 1957 and together they raised five children: JoAnne, Philip, Michael, Tom, and John; and he is the true definition of a Family man.
Tom was employed by ITT, Bendix Corporation, Martin Lockheed. He was recognized for his involvement and contributions in such programs as the Magellan Program, Skylab, and Hubble Space Telescope. Connected always to community service, grounded by faith, Tom spent many years volunteering in organizations such as Nutley First Aid Squad, Boy Scouts of America, Samaritan Shelter, Parent of Murdered Children, and until recently, he served as Lector and Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist at St. Mary's Church. In his retirement years, Tom and Nancy enjoyed travel throughout Europe.
He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 63 years; his daughter JoAnne, and her family, which includes his first grandchild, and his first 2 great grandchildren; his son Philip, and his family; and Toms' most recent great grandchild; his son Michael and his family; his son Tom and his family; and is now reunited with his youngest son John.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Tom's memory to be made to St. Mary's Food Bank, Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB)
