Obituary for Velma Ligrani
Ligrani, Velma, 87, of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Born in Monroe, Michigan to Edith and William Norton and lived most of her life in Littleton, Colorado. She was married to Mike on August 8, 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1969 after 19 years of marriage. Velma was a beautiful and caring person who loved her family and friends and enjoyed garage sales and ran her own flea market with her daughter Pat and brother Chuck. She also enjoyed playing bingo and gambling and on most occasions came out a winner. Her family is her greatest pleasure and she always lit up when she was around any of them. She worked for Samsonite Luggage for 30 years and left due to health issues. She then travelled to Las Vegas, California and Louisiana to enjoy life with her family. Cooking was her joy while listening to Johnny Cash and feeding her family gave her great pleasure. She gave us her all and never asked nothing in return. She was loved by everyone and was delighted in even the smallest treasures, tangible or intangible like a smile or an offer to drive her to lunch or just for a cup of coffee at McDonalds. She was extremely proud of her son Rickie Ligrani of Thornton, CO and 2 daughters, Vickie McCullough of Alexandria, LA and Patricia Ryan of Littleton, CO. She was survived by her sisters Arlene Boyette and Bonnie Allen. Her brothers Raymond Norton and Charles Norton preceded her in death. She left her loving grandson Michael Ryan and granddaughters Alisha Butler and Melinda Roberts. Also her seven great-grandchildren Anna and Jacob Ryan, Jaylen, Zachary and Kennedy Roberts, and Kailey and Bella Butler. There's a part of her in each and every person that hears or reads this and we can all be so honored that she was a part of our lives.
