Obituary for Virginia L. Runck
Virginia passed away March 22nd at her home at the age of 74. Born in Chicago and moved to Kansas where she was raised in Wichita. Her family moved to Denver in 1962. In 1963, she married Roy Runck and they have been married for 53 years. She is survived by her husband (Roy), daughter (Stephanie), son-in-law (Brad), grandson (Brayden) and sister (Barbara), 2 nephews (Matthew and Andrew) and extended family.
She was retired after many years as an office manager in real estate where she developed dozens of life-long friends.
Virginia loved animals and gardening. She loved shopping and always had a keen sense of fashion. She was not only stylish but also up on current affairs. She could always tell you the current “hip” band, song, or political story. It didn’t matter if it was the newest song Michael Jackson had out or the trade the Broncos were “about” to make.
Virginia cherished being a part of the community. She loved her sports teams. She loved the Rockies, Avalanche and golf. She was a devoted Broncos fan and knew the inside information that many sports reporters did not. She was an avid listener of talk radio and constantly kept up on news of the day.
Virginia was a caring and compassionate wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was kind to her family, her friends and her animals. She simply loved life.
