Obituary for Walter "Walt" Kowalchik

Walter “Walt” Kowalchik of Littleton, Colorado passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020, at the age of 83 after a brief battle with COVID-19. He will be remembered especially for his great devotion to his family and his church.

Walt was born in Olyphant, Pennsylvania on August 15, 1937, to parents Theofan Kowalchik and Dorothea Zalutka. He earned a business degree from the University of Scranton and then proudly served in the United States Army. After receiving a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado School of Law, he was a corporate counsel for his entire career.
He married his wife, Carolyn, in July of 1966 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2016.

Walt was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elaine K. Davies. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughter Kathryn Swezy (Mark) and son Don Kowalchik (Shelley), and grandchildren Alex Kowalchik (Christine), Julia Swezy, Samantha Kowalchik and Caroline Kowalchik. His first great-grandchild is expected in February, 2021.

A private family ceremony will be held this year with plans for a memorial service in 2021.
