Frank Edward Francis, Master Sergeant United States Air Force Retired, 92 years of age died at his home in Highlands Ranch, CO on September 10, 2016 in the company of family. Born on August 8, 1924 in Kearney, New Jersey to Albert and Elizabeth Francis (nee Whitley), he was the youngest of six siblings. He often told stories of his father’s beer making and dancing, and his mother’s comforting love.
Frank joined the US Air Force immediately after Pearl Harbor and served his country for 23 years during WWII and the Korean War as an aircraft mechanic, crew chief and instructor. After his military service he continued to work on airplanes until his retirement. After retiring he used his skills to repair clocks and create exquisite models of cannons.
Surviving is his loving wife of 57 years, Ruth Francis (nee Smith) married on January 10, 1959. She was the light of his life. Also his two sons Kevin and Shawn, Kevin's wife Robin and their children, Kelinda, Andrew, and Ian, Shawn's wife Violi and her children Jennifer and Ashley.
A memorial will be held at Wind Crest’s Red Rocks room for friends and family at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 16, 2016.
