Obituary for Ricky C. "Rick" Krakel
Rick, age 69 of Castle Rock.
We are saddened to announce the passing of Rick Krakel after a long battle with ALS. Though the disease debilitated his body it never affected his mind. He maintained a positive attitude and great sense of humor. ALS could not take away Rick’s love for his family or passion for the industry in which he worked for so many years.
Rick was the owner of Krakel Sales Hotel & Restaurant Supply. Rick specialized in the hotel and resort business throughout the Rocky Mountains. He was considered an expert in tabletop design and was respected and admired throughout the country. He taught seminars and assisted many like dealers with his expertise.
Rick is survived by his wife Kim, daughter Kara Olsen, mother June Krakel, brother John Krakel, brother Jim Krakel, granddaughter Madelilne Olsen, and grandson Kaden Olsen.
In keeping with Rick’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. If you feel so inclined, you can make a donation to the ALS Foundation.
