Obituary for Paulette Kennemann
On Monday, January 4, 2021, Lanell Paulette Kennemann, wife of Peter, and mother of Wendy passed away at the age of 74. Born in Houston, Texas on June 3, 1946 she remained in Texas during her youth and young adult life with her parents, Hugh and Florence Binford, and sister, Mary Lou, and brother, Tom. Attending Lamar High School and later graduating from Texas Tech University, Paulette cherished her Texas memories and friends.
Paulette and her husband of 50 years raised their daughter, Wendy, in the Denver community, active members of their church. Paulette was an admired preschool teacher with the Cherry Creek School system, and actively involved with her daughter’s family, especially grandchildren, Matthew and Mallory.
Paulette’s love of family and friends was evident in her perpetual smile and laugh. She was at ease organizing family celebrations and traditions, always entertaining with personal stories and memories. Paulette enjoyed both international and domestic travel. She traveled to Germany numerous times with her German born husband, Peter, to visit family and friends. She traveled to Texas annually to spend time with extended family and childhood friends. Her grandchildren have fond memories of visits to her mountain cabin. Paulette loved her time with Matthew and Mallory, attending dance performances and sporting events. And as anyone that knew Paulette well, she was always ready for a shopping adventure and lunch out.
Although Paulette suffered from dementia in her final years, she still remembered those close to her. Paulette is survived by her husband, Peter Kennemann, daughter, Wendy Hamilton, son-in-law, Mike Hamilton, two grandchildren, Matthew and Mallory, brother, Tom Binford, and his wife, Gail, sister, Mary Lou Howerter, and her husband, Larry, niece, Carrie Goodwin and her family, nephew, Michael Binford and his family, niece, Blair Muldoon and her family, and brother in law, Andy Kennemann and his family. Preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Florence Binford, and father and mother-in-law, Richard and Wilma Kennemann and her niece’s child, Allie Muldoon.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Ellis Family Services Funeral and Memorial Care, with a church service to be held at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, July 9th, 2021 at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Association, your favorite charity, or Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church in Paulette's honor.
