Obituary for Rosanne Sue DeCamillo
Rosanne Sue DeCamillo of Littleton, Colorado passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 25th, 2021, at the age of 60.
Rosanne was born on June 10, 1960 to Ruthie and Ben Thurston in Denver, Colorado. She was raised in Sheridan, Colorado where she graduated from Sheridan High School and attended Arapahoe Community College in Littleton.
Rosanne had a successful career as a registered nurse, specializing in neuro-trauma and neuro-surgery patients. She spent most of her nursing career at Swedish Medical Center, but later worked briefly at St. Joseph’s Hospital. After her son, Nicholas, was born in 1988, Rosanne began to show symptoms of Lupus. Due to the pain and other symptoms caused by that disease, the physical demands of nursing eventually became too much for her and she took a position as a supervisor of Certified Nursing Assistants at Total Longterm Care. She also worked for several years reviewing and processing Medicare claims for the Visiting Nurse Association.
Rosanne will be lovingly remembered by her husband of almost 33 years, Jim DeCamillo; their son, Nick DeCamillo; her brother, Randy Thurston (Cheryl Thurston); her sister, Sharon Nelson (Don Nelson); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family and friends.
Rosanne was a sweet, loving, person with a wonderful, sometimes surprising, sense of humor. She intensely loved her son and her husband, and felt particular affection for several nieces and nephews who had previously lost their own mothers – Rosanne’s sisters. She most often placed the needs of the rest of her family above her own.
She enjoyed making stained glass panels, bible studiesm and watching 1960’s TV re-runs. She loved Jesus Christ and there is no doubt that she is with him, in Heaven. She will be truly missed by those of us who remain here on earth!
In lieu of flowers, please donate to, or volunteer for, the Lupus Foundation of America.
