Leslie “Les” Woodrow Peterson, born December 28, 1933 on the family farm in Montrose, Iowa, passed peacefully onto our Lord, on December 31, 2022 in Littleton, CO at the age of 89.
Les is survived by his wife Diane “Dinny” Peterson, son Terry Peterson (Kathy), daughters Melissa Cole (John) and Kimberly Simpson (Ian), grandchildren Jena Holt (Jason) and Evan Simpson (Olivia), great grandson Tyler Holt and sister Evelyn Pierce.
Preceded in death by 4 brothers Wendell, Lawrence, Ernie, and Merton and 3 sisters Ruby, Fern and Joyce.
Les’s love of skiing brought him to Colorado in 1972. Once in Colorado, he enjoyed skiing and fishing trips with family. Les and Dinny married in 1982 and made their home in Littleton. Employed by AT&T for 30 Years and Coors for 10, after retiring he enjoyed spending time with friends and family, golfing and working on projects around his home. Les and Dinny took many memorable trips in retirement and enjoyed lunches with the people they loved, in the sun on the patios overlooking the many golf courses that he loved to play so much.
Les also delivered Meals On Wheels for many years. He enjoyed talking to and connecting with the numerous people he served while dropping meals off. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Les’s honor to Nourish Meals on Wheels, 92 E Arapahoe Rd., Littleton Co 80122
