Obituary for Judith K. Flesher
Judith K. Flesher, of Littleton, CO, unexpectedly passed away on November 7, 2017 at the age of 66. Born in Quincy, IL on March 29, 1951 to Don and Majel Morgan, Judy was a beloved sister to two siblings and later became a loving Wife and Mother.

After graduating from Western Illinois University, she moved to the Denver area, eventually receiving a Master’s Degree and establishing a life for herself as a Special Education Reading Specialist. Through teaching, tutoring, and consulting, Judy dedicated her life to helping better the minds of young children while making it a point to greet everyone she encountered with the same love, compassion, and understanding. Making an impact in someone’s life was never a challenge and feeling a connection to her was consistently effortless.

In 2008, after five cherished years together, Judy and her husband, Neil, solidified their commitment and married at a small mountain church in Avon, CO. They were surrounded by the ones whom they loved most in a place they were eagerly and eventually looking forward to calling “home.” With this, she gained two more children to whom she offered love and support and Neil gained a partner whom he considered his best friend, one he will forever feel indebted to.

An unwavering love in Judy’s life was for her two sons, whom she gave the world. She was immensely proud of the man her son, Trevor, had become as he followed in her footsteps of earning his Master’s Degree; she truly looked forward to witnessing his achievements in life and trusted there would be many. Greatly impacted by the death of her son, Ty, in 2015, she began devoting her time through working with the Harm Reduction Action Center to help make a difference in the lives of those affected by the crippling disease of addiction. She consistently made the effort to hear the stories of others and offered a lending hand in any way she knew how.

Wednesday’s held a special place in Judy’s heart as she regularly attended Bible Study Fellowship, along with many Sunday’s spent at Red Rocks Church, helping her gain a new perspective on life. She asked that God provide her with strength, grace, and mercy and God responded daily in fulfilling her steady prayers. There is no question that Judy and Jesus now sit beside each other and her eternal life has been found.

With her undeniable zest for life, she met every opportunity head on. Always encouraging an active lifestyle, she connected with the outdoors through her love of golfing, hiking, and skiing. Regularly looking forward to her annual “girl’s trip” to Austin, TX, she and her sister, Kathy, intentionally made time to sit back, relax, and catch up on life. She traveled the world, learning new cultures and forming a deeper connection to places she had dreamed of seeing. While never taking a Hawaiian sunset for granted, she loved the sand between her toes as she peacefully watched each day pass.

For Judy, a glass of red wine and good company always warmed the heart, and for all of the reasons we loved her, we remember our Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend. We will promise to speak of her often because the world, as she left it, is certainly a better place than when she found it.

Judy is survived by her husband, Neil Flesher of Littleton, CO; her son, Trevor Lawson of Broomfield, CO; her stepson, Ryan Flesher of Denver, CO; her stepdaughter, Lindsay Hogan (Brad) of Denver, CO; her sister, Kathy Bourgeault (Art) of Frisco, TX; her brother, Jim Morgan (Jori) of Lakewood, CO. Judy is preceded in death by her son, Ty Lawson, as well as her parents, Don and Majel Morgan.
