Obituary for Robert Lee Schloemer
Bob age 74 of Aurora, Colorado.
Robert Lee Schloemer, 74, entered eternity on Friday, May 17, 2019. He was born on July 16, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to Otto and Lydia Schloemer. He attended Tri-State University in Angola, Indiana, the University of Kentucky, and graduated with a degree in architectural engineering from Chicago Technical Institute. He also served in the U.S. Army at Fort Hood, Texas.
He married Deborah Hahn on November 26, 1983.
Bob and Deb lived in Carol Stream, Illinois, for over 30 years where they were very active at Wheaton Bible Church. Bob was an usher there for over 25 years. Upon retirement in 2015, they moved to Aurora, Colorado, and became active members of Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church.
Bob was a life-long, die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and greatly celebrated their 2016 World Series victory. He also was a big, big fan of the Michigan Wolverines and Kentucky Wildcats. Bob was an avid golfer, and loved the Colorado climate, where he could be found on the golf course at least once every month of the year. Bob and Deb loved to travel, and Bob could usually be found with a camera around his neck.
Most importantly, Bob loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His favorite Bible verse was Psalm 103:8 - The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. It was his earnest, prayerful desire that all his family and friends know Jesus.
Bob is survived by his wife, Deborah, son Robert, Jr. (Lori), of Carmel, Indiana; and son Jeffrey (Tracy) of Centennial, Colorado; three grandchildren: Robbie, Zac and Katie Jo, all of Carmel, Indiana; two brothers: Donald (Barbara) of New Port Richey, Florida, and William (Joan), of Kimberling City, Missouri; one sister: Patricia (Greg) of Bolingbrook, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Georgiana.
