Obituary for Kelley Cristina Bjella
Kelley Cristina (Baca) Bjella, 39, of Lone Tree, Colorado, passed away Saturday, June 15.

Kelley is survived by her long-time friend and husband, Todd Bjella; her father, Paul C. Baca and his wife, Daphne Baca; her mother, Robin Caputo and her husband, Dominic Caputo; and her brothers, Anthony Baca and Joseph Caputo, stepbrothers Matt and Ben Holston, as well as grandmothers Josephine Garcia and Sandra Parker; and many loving cousins, aunts and uncles, and Todd’s parents, Conni Bjella and Greg Pettus, and brother Brandon Bjella. A life-long animal lover, Kelley is also survived by her three precious dogs, Shylah, Gemma and Feya.

Kelley was born May 13, 1980, attended Highlands Ranch High School, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Metropolitan State College on a full-ride scholarship from the Rocky Mountain News. Her 20-year career in journalism, public relations and marketing includes being a reporter at the Rocky Mountain News, a Corporate Communications manager for Dish Network, Media Relations Representative for Kaiser Permanente, National Spokesperson for the American Humane Association, Content Manager for the Morris Animal Foundation, Digital Publicist for Dex Media, and Communications Manager for Datavail, among other key positions.

Kelley and Todd enjoyed cooking and grilling together and watching sports, and Kelley was an avid reader who also enjoyed gardening, crocheting and playing with her beloved dogs. She often volunteered at “no-kill” animal shelters including Maxfund, and at the local library.

A celebration of Kelley’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on June 20, 2019, at the Chapel at Ellis Family Services, located at 13436 West Arbor Place, Littleton CO 80127. A reception will follow immediately after (from 12:30-2 p.m.) at Peak Community and Wellness Center, 6612 S. Ward St, Littleton CO 80127.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Maxfund Animal Adoption Center (https://maxfund.org/Donation-Page), or Al-Anon as a memorial contribution in Kelley's memory.
