Kilpatrick, William H. III, born in Beatrice, Nebraska in 1922, Bill attended Doane College and Iowa State University graduating in 1944 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Commissioned to the U. S. Navy in 1944 he served aboard the USS Suisun for the duration of WWII and again saw active duty in the Korean War. He began his career with Phillips Petroleum in Borger, Texas later moving his wife and family to the Denver area where he founded a successful chemical engineering consulting business. He was a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, American Institute of Industrial Engineers, American Society for Testing & Materials and Colorado Society of Engineers where he served as president from 1973 – 74. He is survived by Emily, his devoted wife of 67 years; son William Richmond; daughters Margaret Allen, Linda Brooks and Cathy Kilpatrick; grandsons Daryl & Jeffrey Brooks; and 2 great granddaughters.
