Obituary for Henry Marion Wasem, Jr.
Wasem, Jr., Henry M, of Littleton. Henry was born on February 22, 1928, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Esther and Henry Wasem. His paternal grandparents had immigrated to Iowa from Oberingelheim, Germany and his maternal grandparents from Sweden. His paternal grandfather, Adam Wasem, was a private in Company A., 32nd Iowa Infantry, in the Civil War. Henry grew up in Ft. Dodge where the family owned gypsum land and work at the Wasem Plaster Company. He grew up in a strict, but loving family that included his older brothers, Dick and Robert, and sisters, Anne and Jeanne. He was a good student and a great athlete. During high school he lettered all 4 years in football and track. He attended and graduated from the University of Colorado and later married his high school sweet heart, Donna Jean, in 1950. They had three children name Scott, James, and Cathy and settled in Colorado where his older brothers lived. He was a manufacturer’s rep for the next 25 years when he rediscovered Jesus Christ, his Lord. He traveled to various cities of the United States and the world praying for leaders, governments and the people for the next 35 years. He loved to talk to others about his travels and about Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Dick and Robert, and sisters, Anne and Jeanne. His three children survive him: Scott, James (his wife, Linda) and Cathy (her husband, Mark), and many relatives. We will miss his humor and dancing, but, knowing we will see him again in Heaven.
