Obituary for Richard Allen Heintz
Heintz, Richard A., age 69 of Aurora. Richard was born January 30, 1945. Passed away May 4, 2014 at his home in Aurora, CO surrounded by family and friends. Richard was born in Scottsbluff, NE to Leah (Becker) Heintz and David Heintz. Richard moved from Scottsbluff to Colorado in 1958. He graduated from Aurora Central High School, class of 1963. He attended Western State in Gunnison, CO, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He went on to marry Ann Elizabeth Loftis, recently celebrating their 42nd wedding anniversary. He was an expert carpenter, having built several homes and buildings in Colorado, including his own. In the 1980’s and early 90’s, he and his nephew Steve Heintz shifted the focus of their business to renewable energy, namely the installation and support of residential solar systems. He was highly skilled at, and frankly enjoyed, solving complex problems in computer and electronic systems for the US Postal Service. Richard retired from the USPS in 2012, after 23 years of service. In his youth he enjoyed flying airplanes and skiing with siblings. He continued to enjoy skiing with his son and grandsons, well into his sixties. In recent years, Richard spent time with his grandchildren by attending school events, baseball & soccer games, swim meets, and dance recitals. Richard is survived by his wife Ann; his children Jason (Karma) Heintz of Aurora; Matthew (Yosevine) Heintz of Aurora; and Sarah (Jesse) Weiland of Aurora.; Grandchildren; Kamden, Kaleb, Karter, Peytann and Noah. His brother Verhn (Marlene) Heintz; His sister Harlene (Kenny) Hardt; his brother Wayne (Janet) Heintz and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother Leah, father David, and brother Farrell.
