Obituary for Ione Mae Cole
Cole, Ione Mae, age 98 of Denver. Ione was born in Welcome, Minnesota in March of 1916. She married Phillip B. Cole on May 30, 1937 in Iowa. They moved to Denver in 1941. He died on September 28, 1956, leaving Ione to raise four children; Roberta, Richard, Kenneth and Claudia. She taught her children to be honest and work hard. She had numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ione loved gardening, flowers and birds, and was a great friend to all the neighborhood birds and squirrels. In her later years she loved to have her children drive her around to look at the flowers in the summer and the colorful trees in the fall. Ione lived a simple and honest life. She slipped away peacefully early in the morning on August 27, 2014 at the age of 98. We, as her children, are honored to have had her as our Mother.
