Obituary for Donald LaVern Morris
Don was born August 27, 1954 – died October 7, 2015, in Strasburg Colorado. He passed away peacefully in his home, with his wife of 38 years at his side, after a 18 month long illness from ALS.
Don was born to Glenn Morris and Inge McCorkle, one of nine children. Don married Deborah (Linnebur) on Feburary 6, 1977. Their union produced three children Chad (Tami), Rebecca (Steve) Rodda, and Dustin (Odessa), and one ‘adopted’ son Cody.
He was a U.S Army Veteran, serving our country for more than 17 years. Don had many titles, husband, father, brother, but his favorite was Papa to his 11 grandchildren. One of his proudest achievements was his ordination as a non-denominational pastor, serving for family and friends in weddings and funerals over the past 11 years.
Don was preceded in death by his mother Inge, father Glenn, sister Glenda, Grandma Mae, Grandpa and Grandma Cook.
Don’s cherished grandchildren: Chad's children Abigail, Rachelle, Brayden, and Kirk; Dustin's children Taylor, Mariah, Allison, Zoey, and Kaden; and Rebecca's children Stephanie, and Reegan.
