Obituary for Charles Neil Baumgardner
Charles Neil Baumgardner passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at the age of 40, after a long and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Charles was born on August 25, 1975, in Denver, Colorado, the youngest of four children. He grew up in Bennett, Colorado, where he went to Bennett High School and thrived in sports on the field, court, and track, along with his two brothers, and graduated as valedictorian. He went on to Regis University in Denver, Colorado, where he excelled in academics and made friendships that have lasted a lifetime. After his college graduation, Charles boldly went where no Regis valedictorian had gone before…he hit the highway as an over the road truck driver. Inevitably, he grew tired of sleeping in a truck cab and took a leap of faith, joining a small startup - MaC Technologies, which he helped cultivate into what is now Educational Measures. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit and kind heart; and, for being the very best son, brother, husband, father and friend that anyone could ever have.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Fran, adoring son Oliver, his mother Norma, three siblings, Cecelia (Gordon), Roland (Candice) and Raymond, four nieces, Gwyneth, Avery, Lorelei and Elise, two nephews, Ronan and Brennan, and a host of other family and friends who all loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Neil.
A funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, June 2, 2016, at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 S Quebec St, Englewood, CO, 80112. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral at 10 am. Reception to follow the funeral Mass.
