Obituary for Bonnie Joyce Jones Graves
Bonnie Joyce Graves of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 17, 2017 in Denver, Colorado.
She was born to Leo Arthur Jones and Mable Whipple June 2, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bonnie was married and sealed to Gordon Lamar Graves on May 24, 1951 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband Gordon Lamar Graves and her five children and their spouses – Dennis (Linda), Mark (the late Cindy), Sandra (Mark), Gary (Allison) and Kent (Shawna). She has 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.
Bonnie was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and the goodness that it taught. She served two LDS missions with her husband Gordon - One to Manchester, England and another to the Washington D.C. Temple. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Denver Temple from 1998 to 2012.
Bonnie was active for most of her adult life in literary club, Daughters of Utah Pioneers as well as an LDS Study Group that met every fast Sunday for religious discussions with dear friends.
Bonnie was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. She taught her children to work hard and play hard. She loved to ski, hike, and camp in the beautiful mountains of Utah and Colorado. She was very talented in sewing clothes, drapery making, upholstering furniture, oil painting, gardening, canning fruits and vegetables and making crafts. Bonnie was an accomplished pianist and organist.
