Obituary for Carl Henry Lopez, Jr.
Carl, age 58 of Denver, CO. Loving husband of Jo.
Carl was a loving man who had a passion for sports and an even deeper love for the Colorado forests he grew up in. He excelled as an athlete while attending Ranum high school. He shared the love of football and wrestling with his younger brother Mark. Carl was a hard working man, yet never hesitated to spare a moment for others. He was always very proud of the volunteer work he and his brother Doug did with the Alpine rescue crew in St. Mary’s. Carl was always the first one with a fishing rod in the lake and the last one to leave. He never failed to brighten a room with his laugh. Carl always had a wild story or joke at the ready when he wasn’t cheering on his beloved Broncos.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo, as well as his four children Matthew, Joseph, Michaela, Jason and his wife Elizabeth. Carl’s two grandsons Logan and William enjoyed a close relationship with their grandfather. Carl’s parents, Carl Sr. and Patricia, four younger siblings Mark, Randy, Doug and Laura and their spouses Jeannie, Deana, and Daniel will pass on their cherished memories of Carl to their children. Carl was a great big brother, the funniest uncle, an even better dad, but most of all he was the best grandpa “Baba” anyone could ask for.
