Obituary for Cecil "Butch" Snow
Butch (Gino) Snow of Littleton, Colorado. Born on September 16, 1942 - Received His Angel Wings on December 25, 2020
Butch is survived by Darlene, his wife of 57 years, Brother-in-law Ted, Brother Perry (Suzie), Children Kim (Nick), Mike (Tara), Nikki (Tony) and 8 Grandchildren, Nick (Kayla), Michaela, Lauren, Conner, Abigail, Anthony, Zachary, and Dominic. He is preceded in death by his mother Sue Bateman- birth name Josephine Assunta Gallo.
Butch, also known as Gino, was born on September 16, 1942. He was born in Denver Colorado, where he was raised by his mother Sue. Growing up with a big Italian family, his cousins and extended family were all nearby, some even on the same block. His Nonnie, Sue’s mom, lived with them growing up. She was from Italy and did not speak English. At a young age Butch had to learn to speak in Italian to communicate with her. We always loved hearing his memories and impersonations of her. He had the perfect ascent and stories that would entertain us for hours. It never got old to hear him speak with the ascent.
As A young adult, Butch began his career as a hairdresser, yes, a hairdresser, imagine that! He was actually a very successful hairdresser, and it wasn’t long before he owned his own salon. This was the start of a long and successful career as an Entrepreneur. After being a hairdresser for several years, he moved onto real estate. He got his real estate license and quickly became investing in properties of all types. At one point he owned and managed multiple houses throughout the Denver Metro area. He continued his career as an investor and owned and operating a wide range of local businesses from hotel and restaurants to car washes. He was a charismatic businessman that could negotiate and sell like no other. He always worked extremely hard to provide for his family, and he never disappointed us.
One of Butch’s favorite hobbies was car racing His passion for car racing started with his Uncle Sam, whom is now in the Lakeside Speedway Hall of Fame. Butch went from watching his Uncle race, to driving his own race car. Racing was in his blood and he passed his love for the sport onto his son Mike, and then later onto his grandson Conner. Up until his final days, Butch was the leader and biggest fan of The Snow Racing Team.
Butch also loved football and gambling. He could run a craps table better than the dealer himself. He would go to Vegas for a weekend and never see the inside of the hotel room. Other than a quick trip to the sportsbook to bet on football, he could be found at the craps table. He also loved watching football. He knew everything about the sport and of course loved betting on it. When we would call him on Football Sundays and ask what he was doing, he would tell us “You know what I am doing, I am working”! At a young age, his kids and grandkids all knew what the term over/under, the spread, and points meant.
But above anything else, Butch loved spending time with his family. He and Darlene were married for 57 years and in love until the end. Together they had three children and eight grandchildren. They all had him wrapped around his finger. He and Darlene made their home into the family compound. For many years, his mother and Darlene’s mother lived with them, up until they passed on. Darlene’s autistic brother Ted has and still does live with them. He was a force in his children and grandchildren’s lives. He could never get enough of his family. He loved them with his entire heart and soul. He was immensely proud of the family he and Darlene created. He was the family rock, and Darlene’s everything.
Words cannot begin to express how much he will be missed. He was our protector while on earth and will now be our Guardian Angel in Heaven.
