Obituary for Cheryl L. McIntire
Cheryl "Cheri" Lynn Philbrick McIntire of Sidney, Nebraska, former resident of Lakewood, Colorado.

Born to Charles E. and Carrie J. Philbrick in Smith Center, KS in October of 1951. On the same day, her cousin was born in the same hospital 17 minutes afterwards. Cheri was meant to share her life with others.

One of Cheri’s highlights growing up was in High School when she worked at Frontier Drug as a Soda Jerk, dishing ice cream etc. She Graduated at Douglas High School in Wyoming in 1969. She then pursued her education in Denver, CO at Parks Business College. She talked a lot about her Job at FOSS, and Pruge Brothers, and A Heating & Air Conditioning Company where she worked with some of her greatest friends.

Cheri met her husband, Jerry; they began their life together. They loved getting together, hanging with their lifetime friends, going camping, boating, playing cards, bowling leagues, and building memories. Cheri was an avid crafter. She loved to read in the fresh air, being in the mountains and seeing the sunsets couldn’t be beat. Cooking for people was a love language of hers, she loved to gather at the table around food, with family, friends, and many laughs. It was always good for the soul. The Last 12 years of Cheri’s life she was humbled and honored to have spent quality time with her mom in the kitchen finding new recipes and eating at the table as they talked about the good Olé’ Days.

Cheri LIVED for Christmas, and she treasured spending the Holiday Season with the ones she loved. She loved making copious amounts of Christmas cookies and seeing the faces of excitement, when they showed up at Christmas time. plates of cookies everywhere! Finding new recipes for her grandchildren that would make the trips extra special for them, this filled her cup. Her grandkids were her Pride and Joy!

Cheri was a homemaker for years, a CPA, and a Sales Associate for a Collectable Shop, called the Tobacco Leaf. Cheri worked there for a longtime selling Cigars and Collectables. She would come home and tell stories she had with customers. As she worked in this store, she became more than a Sales Associate. She was the face of the store that brought people in looking for her smile, laugh, and the connection that so many longed for. Cheri really became excited about the Collectable World. how each piece had a story and when people came in looking for a gift, she would ALWAYS find the perfect one! Much like a Collectable World Cheri had a story, she was valuable, precious to those that knew her, and was treasured by the people that knew her and for that she was The True Collectable. We all will miss her so much.

Cheri is survived by her mother, Carrie J., her husband Jerry, daughter Carrie and her husband Cory and their kids Aiden, Grace, and Piper, son Kelly, brother Kevin and his wife Nanette, brother-In-law Darrell and his wife Cookie, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her father Charles, father-In-law Garland and mother-in-law Helen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association, or Table of Grace Food Bank in Sidney, Nebraska.
