Obituary for Deborah Ann Witt
Deborah Ann Witt was Born June 25, 1949 to Virgil and Avis Hoffman of Milford, IA. The second of three children, older brother Kerry Hoffman formerly of Milford, IA and little sister Valerie Hoffman of Thornton, CO.

Deb spent many years out on the farm, pulling tassels from corn and picking weeds and rocks when she wasn't flirting with the boys on Lake Okoboji before she graduated from Milford High School in 1969. Deb continued her education at University of New Mexico in Las Cruces, NM while sewing crotches in panty hoses for work. She then married her high school sweetheart, Don Olhausen and moved to Central City, CO where they opened the Candy shop. In Central City, Deb was known as the town mom, taking in the locals as her own, as well as the candy lady making chocolates and not so appropriate delicacies while driving both the ambulance and school bus.

Don and Debbie had two children, Donda and Drew before separating. Even after divorce, Deb spent much time helping Don's new wife, Elizabeth and with Don's care while suffering Alzheimer's.

Deb then married Jody T. Witt in 1982 during his lunch break at the Central City Court House. After marriage, Deb and Jody moved to Arvada, Ft. Lupton, and eventually landed in Littleton

Deb started her government career in Central City as the Bailiff, and after returning to factory sewing for a while, started at Colorado State Patrol and later retired from Colorado Department of Transportation.

Deb and Jody spent their retirement truly enjoying time with their grandsons, Dawson and Jarrett, whether is be hands on in cub-scouts, or cheering them on in sports, the only time they would miss an event is if they were out of state on one of the notorious Motorcycle trips. Deb and Jody spent some of their favorite times traveling this country, and Canada, on the back of motorcycles with an amazing group of friends. The adventures were numerous and talked about for years to come. There was nothing Deb loved more than travel.

Debbie lost the love of her life on Dec 3, 2016 and was never the same afterwards. Although she continued to travel with her roommate Leslie, her daughter Donda, and whatever friend would invite her (Penny), she never enjoyed it as much as with Jody. She talked about how much she missed her Jody, and if there is any comfort in this battle Deb has taken, it is that she is now back with her love.

Over the last 5 years, Deb battled digestive issues and on November 9, 2020 started this final battle, spending 5 months in the hospital, multiple trips back and then enduring this final leg of the journey at home, with the help of Denver Hospice, Amada Healthcare, Amazing roommate, extended and immediate family and many, many friends, All of whom we can not thank enough for the love and joy brought to her in the darkest of times.

It is during trials like this the world realizes what is truly important, so from Deb and us all, thank you for your constant love and support.
