She was preceded in death by daughter Kathy. Fran was born in Bismarck, North Dakota, on April 20, 1928. She met Jack at the University of North Dakota, where she received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree. They married and came to Colorado on their honeymoon, where they learned to ski and fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. Jack enlisted in the army, and Fran was an “army wife” for 2 years in Alabama. They returned to Colorado in 1953, where they raised their daughters to love the outdoors. Fran enjoyed skiing, bicycling, sailing and swimming. She loved music and was an accomplished classical pianist, and she also loved the beauty of nature, especially flowers. She was an award winning artist, and many of her watercolors were of flowers and landscapes. Fran was a member of the Colorado Watercolor Society, and won many awards for her artwork, and many of her paintings are in private collections. In 2011, she held a successful “one artist show” at the Koelbel Library in Greenwood Village. Fran had a strong Catholic Faith. She enjoyed singing with the choir at St. Mary’s for 15 years. She loved her family and her many friends. She also loved her cats; Kacey, Daisy and Dooley. She loved books and was an avid reader, and belonged to a local book club. She enjoyed travelling and made two trips to Ireland. Fran had a zest for life and learning, and loved history and astronomy. Among her career accomplishments, the one of which she was most proud was owner and manager of a small business, Fran’s Hallmark, in Littleton, for 11 years. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and a friend to many, she will be missed and remembered. Her spirit is now free, and will travel with all who knew and loved her.
