Loving husband, father, and grandfather, John Edward Miller Sr., 75 of Mechanicsville, MD passed away in Morrison, CO on March 2, 2016. John was born in Washington D.C on June 24, 1940 to Mary Katherine and Robert S. Miller. He attended Suitland High School, Class of '58.
John married Florence Mitchell and together they had two children, John Edward and Tracy Renee. He worked as Firefighter in Washington D.C. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. John was also a proud member of the Association of D.C. Firefighters and a faithful member of Mount Zion United Church.
John is survived by his wife, Florence Miller, son, John Miller, Jr. and his children, Paige Miller and Cameron Miller, as well as their mother, Lisa Miller. He is also survived by his daughter, Tracy O'Hara, her husband, Sean O'Hara, and their children, Delaney O'Hara, Conor O'Hara, and Jack O'Hara. He also leaves behind his sister Ann Beall and her husband Charles as well as his brother, Ralph S.Miller. He also leaves his sister-in-laws, Peggy Miller, Hassie Mitchell, and Pat Cook. Other loving remaining family include brother-in-laws, Mike Mitchell and his wife Holly, Frank Mitchell, Robert Mitchell, Alan Mitchell and his wife Margaret, Melvin Mitchell and his wife Ann, and Kenneth Mitchell and his wife Sharon.
He is predeceased by his father, Ralph Sylvester Miller, his mother, Mary Katherine Miller, and his brother, Robert Miller.
Memorial services will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Laurel Grove, Maryland on April 23, 2016 at 11:00.
