Obituary for Judy B. Layne
Layne, Judy B., age 73 of Aurora. Judy passed away February 24, 2016 at Kindred Hospital in Aurora, Colorado. Judy was born Julia Ann Bartschi in Montpelier, Idaho, November 2, 1942 to Max and Vicky Bartschi. She had two younger sisters, Maxine and Jan. Judy attended Montpelier High School and graduated in 1960. After graduation, Judy took off on an adventure with friends and ended up in Hawaii, where she lived in paradise for 2-3 years.
In May of 1965 she married the love of her life, James W. “Bill” Layne. They had two daughters together, Tiffany and Stephanie, and shared 25 years of love and happiness together before his passing in 1990.
Judy spent most of her life working in the residential and commercial construction industry. Before retiring Judy worked as Manager of Administration for Sturgeon Electric in Henderson, Colorado. At one point in her life, she worked side by side with her husband as owners/operators of Tom Thumb Hobbies, In Aurora Colorado.
Judy had a wonderful outlook on life and always stayed positive. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and game shows.
She is survived by her sisters, Maxine Bartschi and Jan Keetch. Her daughters, Tiffany Layne and Stephanie Layne Samimi. Four grandchildren, Julian, Cyrus, Darius and Layla.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, Max and Vicky and her husband Bill.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Lung association.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to everyone at Kindred Hospital Aurora for their care and support during the last chapter of her life.
