Obituary for Makayla Ann Dame
Makayla was born on April 10, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado to David & Kimberly (Hillman) Dame of Franktown, Colorado. She is survived by her parents and her older brother Jacob; as well as her Grandmothers, Louvilla Dame, Janice Hillman and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved her dearly: Margaret Buck, Andrew Newton (Kendra, Kersten, Karlen); Matthew & Marnie Dame,(Taylor, Reagan, Maddie); Doug & Lisa Dame, (Aiden); John & Joey Dame (Josh, Jack, Jesse); Jim Hillman, Mike Hillman, Cindy & Bob Brawley (Nick, Jack, Anna). Makayla was preceded in death by her two grandfathers Thomas Dame and Ronald Hillman.
Makayla was a senior at Ponderosa High School in Parker, CO. She tragically passed away in a motor vehicle accident in Parker on December 12, 2021. She was well loved and respected amongst her family, friends, school, soccer teams, Douglas County 4H and SCTP and NSCA shooting communities.
Makayla was an accomplished shotgun competitor from the young age of 8, winning numerous awards. She was a 4 year varsity soccer player and a captain for her club team. She was an excellent student and an even better friend. When she wasn’t shooting or on a soccer field, she was with friends or home enjoying her dog, Shadow. She’ll forever be remembered as a person who could always brighten your day. She was a loyal and loving friend and daughter. Makayla will be deeply missed by all.
Her family asks that donations be made in her name to Children’s Hospital of Colorado.
