Obituary for Mary Anne Sheehan
Former Littleton, Colorado resident. Early the morning of June 18th, Mary Anne Sheehan passed peacefully in her sleep in her residence in Portland, OR. Born June 3, 1931 in Washington, DC to John and Berta Koster (Pochman), Mary went on to successfully raise her family and have a career in accounting working in the oil industry in Dallas early on then developing her own business in Denver.
Mary spent much of her early years in Indianapolis, IN, where she was raised by her grandparents after her mother passed in an automobile accident in Reno, NV in 1936. Later she returned to Boulder City, Nevada with her father where she graduated high school. Eventually, she would spend a great deal of time in Dallas where she met her future husband and father of her three children Jeremiah Sheehan. They moved to Farmington, NM where they began building a successful mobile home business working closely with the Navajo Reservation in the Four Corners region. In 1976, Mary moved her three small children to Denver, CO settling in Littleton where she worked tirelessly to raise her family as the provider, protector, sounding board, faithful friend and unwavering advocate in life. Her kitchen table was the hub of great activity from sewing of draperies, a desk for her accounting work, to hosting family dinners and thoughtful conversations with family and friends as well as the endless stream of individuals seeking counsel about the challenges of life. In late 2012, Mary moved to Portland, OR where she spent her remaining years in residence with her youngest daughter and family.
Mary is survived by her three children and six grandchildren; son Dan Sheehan and his wife Lois with their two daughters Lyndsey and Kelsey of Littleton, daughter Jerrie Lynne Sheehan Barnett and her two sons Charles and Shane of San Antonio and daughter Kelli Lair and her two children Kyle and Alex Marie of Portland, her nephew and niece Kevin and Heidi Koster, her great nephew and niece Rick and Michelle Koster along with their mother Thelma and her cousin Libby.
Mary was preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, brother Bill and her Uncle Richard, all of which she was extremely close with and whom are now rejoicing in being together once more.
Certain as the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, many will forever hold the loving memories of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and friend close to their hearts. Her star will forever shine brightly in the night sky.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel at Ellis Family Services, 13436 West Arbor Place in Littleton, CO 80127, on Saturday, August 27th, 2016 at 11:00 AM.
