Vanderhoof, Richard Lee, age 83, of Littleton. Richard was born February 17, 1931 in Clifton Springs, New York to Gertrude Dunton Vanderhoof and William Hugh Vanderhoof. Richard was the youngest of eight children, making him brother to Beulah Carolyn Kimble, Jean Elizabeth Skinner, Winifred Mae Knapp, Hugh, Frank, John and Gordon Vanderhoof. Richard married Carolyn Heil and to this union were born five children, Debbie Rodenburg, Diane Durant, Richard Vanderhoof, Jennifer Grupe and Joseph Vanderhoof. He is also survived by his grandchildren Ken Rodenburg, Kevin Rodenburg, Lauren Kirsch, Lisa Althaus, Christopher Durant, Jessica Anderson, Sean Grupe, Brian Grupe, Carrie Lowry, Tim Vanderhoof, Tom Vanderhoof and Cassidy Vanderhoof and his great-grandchildren Madeline Rodenburg, Noah Rodenburg, Evan Rodenburg, Jacob Kirsch, Ryan Althaus, Justin Anderson, Dylan Anderson, Tyler Anderson, Amelia Anderson, Emma Lowry, Joshua Lowry and Ava Lowry. Richard retired as a Master Sergeant on August 1, 1969, after serving over 20 years in the United States Air Force and had also held the position of an Investigator for the Veterans Administration.
Cemetery:
Services with Full Military Honors by the United States Air Force will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Anyone wishing to attend should meet within the cemetery on Montana Street by 11:15 AM.
