Obituary for Roberta G. "Bobbi" Wright

Bobbi, age 79 of Littleton, Colorado. Peacefully went home to be with her Lord on Monday, May 27, 2019.

Bobbi was born to Ivan Bishop and Helen Dene (nee Harding) Wright on January 10, 1940 in her grandparents’ farmhouse north of Cambridge, Nebraska. Bobbi was the third born following her brother Richard “Dick”, sister Patricia “Pat” and then came her baby brother James “Jim”. Although she was born with health issues as a child, she never let that keep her from getting done what she desired for her life. Her health concerns made her the feisty fighter she will always be remembered as.

She graduated from Cambridge High School with the Class of 1957 and went on to attend Business School in Lincoln, Nebraska graduating in September of 1958. In 1961 Bobbi moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked with various law firms before taking a position as an Executive Secretary with the State of Colorado retiring from the AG State Department on April 30, 1998 after serving 30 years.

One of Bobbi’s proudest moments was when she became a homeowner buying her newly built condo in December of 1972 in the southwest area of Littleton, Colorado which she has called home for the past 47 years.

The Wright family were members of the United Methodist Church in Cambridge, Nebraska. Bobbi later became a member of the Heritage United Methodist Church in Littleton which became her second family and she loved each one there. She was so proud of being a fifth generation Methodist.

Bobbi was an avid sports fan, taking on trips to Honolulu, Hawaii to watch the Cornhuskers football team play or staying in town attending Bronco Football games at the Mile High Stadium, it was a great time in life for her. With sports either on the radio or TV at her home she would sit quietly knitting as the game was being played out, “coaching” in her own way and tone when she felt fit or at least yelling and hooting depending on the play. She loved her “Go Big Red” team and even living in Colorado the Big Red was dominating. Her UN walking stick says it all!

She enjoyed her patio gardening and always knew when fall was close because her mum plants would start to change and sure enough the next thing, we knew fall was here. Bobbi cherished the time she had with her beloved dash hound “Clink”, the two kept each other company when she arrived home from her workday. I am sure Clink was there to welcome her home and ready for a quick walk to get reacquainted.

Following her parents’ deaths, the siblings always looked forward in visiting each other for a family reunion each year and catching up on each other’s lives. Bobbi was always up for going out to eat, which would turn out to be an afternoon or evening affair by the time she got her talking done. Of course, there is her Triple Berry pie from Village Inn Pie Wednesday a must if she was in the area of VI. She has left a lot of memories and some we just shake our head and say, “that’s Bobbi”. Heaven has a new roomie and I am sure God and she are going over the upcoming events, which hopefully includes time for Bingo.

Bobbi is survived by her brothers Richard “Dick” Wright of Colorado and Jim (Kathie) Wright of Arizona; nieces and nephews Jackie (Larry) Castrup, Steve (Jennifer) Cerveny, Joli (Ric) Fermo, James Bishop “JB” Wright and Michelle (Jerome) Bonner. She is also survived by 10 great nieces and nephews, four great great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins back in the Nebraska area.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Helen, her grandparents, her sister and brother-in-law Patricia “Pat” and Kenneth “Ken” Cerveny, sister-in-law Shirley Wright and her infant niece Tricia Cerveny.
