Sandra Lee (Hansen) McGee June 6, 1954 – April 24, 2016
Sandy McGee of Ken Caryl, age 61, passed away quietly on Sunday, April 24 after a 5 year battle with ovarian cancer. But she did not lose to cancer - she beat it by how she lived, why she lived and the manner in which she lived. She actively participated in the lives of her husband Michael and sons Christopher and Nicholas. Sandy deeply loved watching both her sons grow into young men and play football from early high school through college. Life isn’t about how to survive the storm...but learning how to dance in the rain!
Sandy was born June 6, 1954 in Denver, Colorado to Donald A. and Evelyn L. (Ferguson) Hansen. A 1972 graduate of Delta County High School in Delta Colorado, Sandy eventually found her way into the telecommunications industry starting with Mountain Bell in 1983. She lived through the evolution of Mountain Bell to US West to Qwest to Centurylink before retiring in 2013.
Sandy is survived by her husband Michael; sons Christopher and Nicholas; sisters Jeanne (Darrell) Olson of Centennial Colorado, Cherie (Chuck) Merritt of Delta Colorado, and Becky (Gary) Wittmer of Greenwood Village, Colorado; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
