Obituary for Susan Charlotte McAndrew
Susan Charlotte (Israel) McAndrew, born in Denver, Colorado to Maurice Theodore Israel and Charlotte Etta Israel and sister to Jan Ellen (Israel) Gieryn on November 17, 1948.

She and her sister remained best friends for Susan’s whole life. She married her other best friend and true love, Dan McAndrew, October 15, 1966. Susan met Jesus early in their marriage and was an example of a changed life to Dan, who also met Jesus, in part because of the woman she grew into. By doing this, they changed the stars for their family. She continued to endeavor to be like Jesus, and was on her way to bible study when she had the stroke that would take her life.
Susan was an excellent mother, beautiful, warm, loving, and wise to her children. She was fiercely protective but taught her children to be accountable and also not to go to their dad to get splinters out. Susan sacrificed to care for her children at home. As they grew up, She worked as a bookkeeper and bred and raised Morgan horses. She was a loyal friend and great companion to those who were privileged to know her. She sparkled in personality, her beautiful silver hair, and in bling. She loved anything that was sparkly or periwinkle colored. Bonus points for both.

She was a lifelong animal lover, cats, dogs, and horses. She was a indomitable horseback rider and a champion for the underdog and the undercat. Many animals had a better life because of her kind care and we are sure they were purring, wagging, and nickering when they saw her enter Heaven.

It was often said by people who knew her, “She reminds me of my mom” when her children hear that, they know it’s because they must have had a very good mother. We think that all the other mothers are wonderful, but we know ours was the best.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Charlotte, and her beloved husband, Dan McAndrew, who had to be thrilled to see her again on August 8, 2022, the date she departed this earth.

She is survived by her sister and bonus brother, Jan and Rob Gieryn, her bonus brother, Don McAndrew. nieces and nephews Darcy, Janelle, Donny, Nikki, and Josh

Also, her heartbroken children, Danielle Andrews & Wes McAndrew, her bonus children, Randy and Michelle, her grandchildren, Luke, Joy, and Melody (Miles) and her bonus grandchildren, John and Betty.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to Far Reaching Ministries- a group that rescues people from perilous situations, Parker Hospital Foundation, who fund the stroke group that was so supportive and loving after her first strokes and after her passing, or Terolyn Horse Rescue who love and care for horses as much as she did.

I Thessalonians 4:13-18

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
