Obituary for Jan Louise Goodrich
Of Aurora, Colorado. Jan Louise Goodrich began her next “adventure” on September 3, 2016 after a 20-month battle with bladder cancer. She was born in West Des Moines, Iowa on November 26, 1953 to Thomas and Betty Huddleston. She has a sister, Wendy Steinkraus her best friend, and a brother, Tom Huddleston, whom she was also very close to.
Jan’s biggest adventure was being a mother to three beautiful children, Jamie, Joshua and Jennifer, whom she had with Mark Goodrich. She had many “adopted” children in their friends, who also call her Mom. She was close to her nephew Jeff and niece Nikki and their families. And let’s not forget her fur babies, Lexi and Betty!
She had a beautiful smile. Jan was fun, happy, positive, supportive, thoughtful, generous and most of all, selfless. She was always concerned with the needs and happiness of others and put them above all else.
Jan was a dedicated teacher for 32 years who attended the University of Iowa and University of Northern Colorado, finishing with a Masters in Education. She loved to garden, craft, cook, entertain, dance, travel and party! Jan was always looking for adventure and we hope she finds this final one to be the best yet.
Mom, you will be missed more than you can imagine. We love you.
