Obituary for Carolyn "Ann" Gonzales
Ann, age 82 of Littleton, Colorado.

On February 10, Ann set sail on her final journey. She loved to travel and believed that when the end came, she would be reunited with her God.

The world lost a true lady; a warm, considerate, loving wife, mother, friend and sister. Ann will be missed by everyone she knew; no one more so than her husband Don, sister Camille, children Don, Camille, Jack and Allen, grandchildren Adam, Travis, Amber, Eric, Nick and a dozen great grandchildren.

Ann was born in Westchester, NY and lived in New York for her first twelve years. She then moved to Louisiana, where she grew up, went to school and graduated with Honors from LSU. After marrying Don, the two of them took the show on the road to Cleveland OH, back to Baton Rouge, LA, followed by 4 years in Brigham City, Utah. From there they returned to Slidell, LA for a few years, then a short stay in St Louis, MO, and finally settling in Denver. Along the way, she and Don happened upon four wayward waifs whom they eagerly incorporated into the tapestry of their lives.

Ann sang in the choir at St. Frances Cabrini church for many years; she journeyed with that choir to Rome to sing for a Papal audience in St. Peter’s square, a very thrilling experience that she talked of with reverence. Ann was active with the Denver Museum of Nature and Science as a docent and contributor. She was an avid supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. She was a member the Columbine Manner Property Owners Association Garden Club and through them she met and enjoyed the company of many friends. Ann’s experiences and association with the Garden Club led her to start a business in floral design. She was an excellent bridge player and belonged to several bridge groups. Ann found one of the keys to making friends wherever she lived was through bridge. Ann had a fantastic wit, a great sense of humor and enjoyed good books and stimulating conversation with family and friends. There was nothing more important to Ann than being a home maker and having one feel that when you walked through the door you were home.
