Obituary for Abraham Gustov Thiessen
Abe Thiessen, 98, passed away peacefully at his home in Colorado on September 22, 2018.
A memorial service and a luncheon following will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 am at Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church, 10150 E. Belleview Avenue, Englewood, CO 80111.
Abe was born on December 10, 1919 in Saskatchewan, Canada. He dedicated his life to using the modern mass media to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all people, in their own language. He has spent the past twelve years alone, since his wife, Ellen, “left him to go to Heaven”. They are together now.
Abe is survived by his four children: Gordon (Pat), Glen (Sandra), Lois Cheatham, and Lynn (Bill) McConaghie; ten grandchildren: Matt (Liz), Melissa Link, Amy, Owen (Lindsey), Brandon (Maggie) Harper, Laura (Jonathan) Regele, Liz (John) Foster, Logan (Kadi), Allison Cheatham, Kelly (Dave) Wallenburg and twelve great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ellen; great-granddaughter Hope; his sister Sarah and brothers Henry and Frank.
