Obituary for Meta Jane Williamson
Williamson, Meta Jane Stewart died at home, Wednesday, June 27th, 2012, in Greenwood Village, Colo. She was 69 years old. Meta was born July 4th, 1942 in Oberlin, Louisiana to the late Sarah Jane Winn Galloway and Woodrow James Stewart. Meta graduated from Boulder High School in 1960 and earned her B.A. in English from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1964. After graduation she moved to El Paso, Texas where she taught high school History and English. In 1969, she moved back to Colorado where she continued teaching at Arvada West High School and completed her M.A. in Education at Colorado State University. On August 24, 1970 Meta married Daniel B. Williamson. Throughout her life Meta enthusiastically researched her family roots and documented the lives of the current generation. She was the tie that binds, not only for her family but also her treasure trove of life-long friends. She will be missed by her husband Dan Williamson of Greenwood Village, Colo.; daughter Sara Williamson of Boulder, Colo.; step-father Richard D. Galloway of Loveland, Colo.; brothers Woodrow James Stewart of Buellton, Calif. and John Hunt Stewart of Arvada, Colo.; sisters-in-law Sue Stewart of Buellton, Calif., Susie Stewart of Arvada, Colo. and Kim Galloway of Loveland, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Timothy Galloway of Loveland, Colo.
Service: A memorial service will be held at the Chatfield Denver Botanic Gardens, 8500 West Deer Creek Canyon Road, Littleton, CO 80128, at the Green Farm Barn, followed by an open house.
