Obituary for Reverend Donald Wayne Ellard
Rev. Ellard was born in Kosciusko, MS on September 8th, 1945 to Rev. E.J. & Delza Ellard. He was married to Barbara Gayle Marshall on January 1st, 1965. He is survived by, Wife, Barbara Gayle Ellard, of Greenville, MS. Daughters, TaJuana Cantu (Rev. Steven) of Greenville, MS, LaRonda Haymon (Rev. Don) of Castle Rock, CO, Alison Kelly (Sam) of Parker, CO, eight grandchildren, Ana Smith (Jason), Alyssa Copeland (Josh) and Nathan Cantu of Greenville, MS. Don III, Jared and DeLana Haymon of Castle Rock, CO. Loren and Cullen Kelly of Parker, CO., and great-grand daughter, Zoe Smith of Orlando, FL. Four sisters, Virginia Marshall of Beaumont, TX, Ruth Marino of Vidor, TX, Beverly Odom of Petal, MS, Sarah Wyatt of Vicksburg, MS, a brother, David Ellard of Lake Village, AR., along with many nieces, nephews and friends. He is welcomed in heaven by his parents, Rev. E.J. and Delza Ellard, of Greenville, MS., brothers, Earl and John Ellard, of Greenville, MS., and parents-in-love, Rev. Tom and Leila Marshall of Jackosn, MS. Rev. Ellard graduated from Greenville High and received a bachelor’s degree in Theology from Jackson College of Ministries. He pastored the United Pentecostal Church of Greenville for 37 years and was the Founder and Superintendent of New Life Christian Academy for 34 years. He received honors for 40 years of ministry with the United Pentecostal Church International where he served on the Mississippi Board of Directors. He served the entire Delta Region by supporting and establishing churches and passionately offering community services.
Cemetery: Graveside service at 1:00pm, Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Greenville, Mississippi.
