Obituary for Lawrence Boyd Eldridge Jr.
Eldridge, Lawrence Boyd, Jr., age 81 of Littleton. Boyd passed away in his home in Littleton, Colorado on August 27, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 18, 1933 and spent his early childhood years in Milford, Utah. He lived in Salt Lake City for many years where he graduated from East High School. He was married in 1951 to Eleanor Love and they had 4 children. He worked as a machinist at Christiansen Brothers Machine Shop and later at Hill Field. He then worked at Sperry Rand Corporation in Clearfield, Utah where he became an inspector and was later promoted to management as a supervisor. In 1967, he moved to Denver, Colorado and worked at the Sunstrand Corporation as a quality assurance inspector. In 1970, he worked at Coors at the container plant. He was an inspector and was soon promoted to management. During that time he worked in research and development in quality assurance and was responsible for the patents of several innovations for the company. He retired from Coors in 1993 at the age of 60, after working there 25 years. Boyd married Mary Grier on May 24, 1969 and they recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. Boyd and Mary loved to travel, go boating and skiing. Boyd was an active member of the Mile High Harmonica Club and enjoyed music all of his life. He also enjoyed the senior activities at his church. Boyd is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Boyd Eldridge and Mildred Hardy Eldridge and his older sister, Jean Eyre (Golden). He will be loved and missed by his loving wife, Mary Grier Eldridge; his brother, Reed (Margaret) Eldridge; his four children and their spouses, Joyce Eldridge, Laurie (Bob) Shirazi, David (Kerry) Eldridge and Robert (Rose) Eldridge. He will also be cherished forever by his grandchildren, Melody Castellaw, Harmony Jaure, Jesse & Eric Ellison, Christian & Savannah Nettel, Julie McLean, Justin Shepard, Akela Silkman, Amber Chastain, Sierra Taylor, Chris, David and Britteny Harris, as well as 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great, great-grandchild. He will be greatly missed by his many friends.
