Obituary for Elsie Joanne Robinson

Joanne of Deer Trail.

Elsie Joanne Robinson was born on January 13, 1937 in Denver CO. She went home to be with Jesus November 20,2019 in Aurora CO at the age of 82.

She was raised on a farm just outside of Byers, CO, the third child of Burton and Fern Paine. Joanne’s siblings are Lorna Qazi, Roberta (Harrison) Burley, Sally (Harvey) Harris, and Alan (Connie) Paine.

In 1954 she graduated from Strasburg High School. Joanne married Richard Ray Robinson in July 1954. Together they had five children Dennis Robinson of Texas, Kenny (Denise) Robinson of Aurora, Brenda (Richard) Benson of Deer Trail, Mark (Janell) Robinson of Englewood and, Rhonda (Daniel) Wudarczyk of Wyoming. They also raised Dick’s youngest brother Chris (Karen) Robinson of Littleton. Many times, she helped raise other kids who needed a loving family. She has 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Joanne was a very kind person who loved to talk about Jesus and how He changes peoples lives. She would share her belief with anyone she met and would do it in a loving caring way. She led many people to the Lord. One of Joanne’s biggest issues with having a stroke was that she had a hard time reading the Bible and speaking clearly. She and Dick loved mission work and they spent many summers as Missionaries in the Native American reservations in South Dakota. Joanne worked as a 4H Leader, in Pioneer Girls and Awana’s. Joanne was a Sunday School teacher as well and enjoyed volunteering at church. Joanne loved to cook and sew quilts and clothing. Joanne loved her family dearly.

Joanne is preceded in death by her parents, Burton and Fern Paine, her husband Dick, her Daughter-In-Law Jennifer and numerous family members.

In lieu of flowers, Joanne wished to have donations go to the Deer Trail First Baptist Church or the Deer Trail Fire and Rescue in her remembrance.
